This afternoon we heard about the unemployed woman who wants taxpayers to stump up £10,000 to pay for her wedding plus an extra £2000 for a honeymoon in Mexico.
Yes, it’s all true, 33-year old Anna Broom from Gillingham said, “I want the taxpayer to fund my £10,000 dream wedding – it’s a basic human right to be a bride. I don’t see why I should have a small wedding at a registry office – I wouldn’t be able to fit in all my guests and a church wedding is far more romantic.
I deserve a fairy-tale church wedding and a party in a castle – but there’s no way I can afford it on benefits and I can’t work because I’m overweight
‘I’m stuck in a rut at the moment and can’t find the motivation to lose weight, but if I was getting married I know I’d slim down because all eyes would be on me.”
It seems however that recent adverse publicity has forced Miss Broom to lower her sights a bit and is willing to settle for a cheaper option if the government was prepared to contribute say £900!
In the second hour of the programme Margaret Mills told us all about the last private owner of HYLANDS HOUSE in Chelmsford. Listen again to what Margaret had to say on this subject by clicking on the link below: –
