Busy schedule ahead for Lochlan

This weekend – 7/8 March – Phoenix FM-sponsored kart driver Lochlan Bearman will be racing in Round 3 of the Hunts Kart Racing Championship where he currently leads the championship.

The weekend adds some further interest as Lochlan has been asked to evaluate a new kart chassis which is significant and high in kudos as it recognises his ability, driving consistency and his technical feedback.

On Wednesday 11th March, Lochlan will be representing his school (Debden Park High School) in the British Schools Karting Championship in a warm up for the first of the knock out rounds.

On Friday 13th March Team Bearman leave for Belgium where Lochlan will step up into the junior Rotax category for the first time and will compete against very experienced European drivers (some are 17 years old) and Teams at the Genk circuit, which is one of the longest in Europe. This will be a new experience and a steep learning curve for Lochlan and the CooperMotorsport Team as neither have been there before.

When he returns from Belgium the following weekend March 22nd will be Round 3 at Whilton Mill where he is 4th in the standings.

Then on Wednesday 25th March we have the first Knock out round of the British Schools Karting Championship held here at the Brentwood Centre. There are 3 drivers per team and their combined results over the event determine whether or not they progress to the next round at Buckmore Park in Kent.

“My teacher Mr Tongate is fiercely competitive and wants to win the BSKC again as his team won it last year and I’d love to be part of that”, said 13-year-old Lochlan. “It’s an amazing time for me and I know how lucky I am to have the support of my family, friends and team mates. I’m determined to give it my best on every lap and I desperately want to win every time I go out, as that’s the best way I can re-pay all the sacrifices my family are making. Throughout all of this I will still be supporting CLIC Sargent, the children’s cancer charity.”
