Lady Audley's SecretOn today’s show Margaret Mills presented the story of a well known 19th century authoress who, back in 1852 published a book – “LADY AUDLEY”S SECRET” which was set in Essex and featured a number of ostensibly fictitious characters based on real people. Being the “J K ROWLING” of her day, her novels were always best sellers but some of the Essex locals who read the book recognised themselves and were less than flattered by how they had been described!
