These days we are always hearing about what the banks have been up to – but of course these are the normal banks you find on the High Street.  But now comes news of a bank that has been taken to court for allegedly pressurising a young man into making regular deposits which lead to his death.

But this was in fact a sperm bank in China. After his fourth visit in just over a week, the 23-year old trainee doctor was found slumped over a pile of saucy magazines presumably thoughtfully provided to encourage healthy donations. The first court awarded the family £27,000 but the family took the case higher in an unsuccessful bid to obtain almost half a million pounds. With their huge population it’s hard to see the need for such a bank in China. Perhaps they have a secret plan to take over the world by sheer force of numbers!
