Nicki talks about Cholangiocarcinoma Awareness Month (AMMF)

ammf-logo1

I was joined in the studio by Nicki from Chelmsford who came in to talk about cholangiocarcinoma or bile duct cancer, which arises within the biliary system – from the tissues of the common bile duct outside the liver or its branches within the liver. The month of February is the awareness month for cholangiocarcinoma.

Nicki sadly lost her husband, Chris,  to the disease in June 2012. Since that time she has taken positive steps to fundraise for the AMMF Charity having completed a trip to the Great Wall of China raising 12k and plenty more fundraising events lined up for this year.

I must just say a big thank you to Nicki for coming on air to share her story with Eat my Brunch listeners, you are a brave and inspiring woman.

WHO ARE AMMF (The Alan Morement Memorial Fund)

The charity’s current objectives are to raise the awareness of cholangiocarcinoma, to support specialised research teams in their work to find the causes, methods of earlier diagnosis and treatments, and to provide information on this disease.

The aim of our Cholangiocarcinoma section is to give as much information as possible in one, readily accessible place and will be evolving as further information becomes available
