When I was a kid I used to love this time of year. First off it was the Southend Illuminations, then it was my birthday, followed swiftly by Guy Fawkes night and soon after came Christmas.
These days firework parties seem to go on for ever but if you are having a late one tonight I hope you will have a good time.
On today’s show I was once again joined by THE ESSEX GHOST HUNTERS – well three of them anyway – Adam was away on holiday – lucky man. Listen again here to what they’ve been up to recently: – Essex Ghost Hunters 9th November
In the second hour of the show, CARL MERRY popped by with the first of our new series – ESSEX TALES. Today’s story was a rather sad tale about the love a 16 year old girl had for a sailor who was drowned before they were able to get married. It has been suggested that Charles Dickens based his character, Miss Haversham in his novel, Great Expectations on this young girl from Canvey.
If you missed it you can hear it again here: – Essex Tales 5th November
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I’ll see you again next week.
