This year, Between The Lines travelled to the home of the most famous endurance race of them all, to the 90th year of the Le Mans 24 hour race.
Three British drivers ended up on the podium, with Alan McNish winning for the third time alongside Danish driver Tom Kristensen who broke his own record by winning the race for the 9th time in the number 2 Audi.
Kristensen dedicated his race win to his fellow Dane Allan Simonsen who died after a crash at Tetre Rouge on the 4th lap of the 8.5 mile circuit. The whole of the race was run under a cloud after the accident and due to changing conditions much of the race took place under the safety car.
