Salad? Well a cold lunch anyway!

With Michelle indisposed today I found myself again sitting in on EAT MY LUNCH.

Being a very cold day I was hoping for at least a few biscuits – but no,  Rob Jelly our Breakfast man had demolished the whole packet. What we did have though was a huge volume of great music and as usual when sitting in for Michelle, some real oddball news stories. Today’s clutch of stories comprised news of a woman who became misled by her Satnav which instead of directing her to the station in Belgian capital, Brussels, managed to deliver her to the main terminus station in Zagreb in Croatia. One might have assumed that after driving for 2-days, the lady might have surmised that there was something not quite right. But in spite of being confronted with road signs in numerous languages, it was only when she arrived in Zagreb that she realised that she was no longer in Belgium. I hope I never get her map reading for me!

Next up was the story of the cat arrested breaking into a prison in Brazil seemingly in possession of drill bits, files, earphones, a mobile phone and charger. Attempts to establish quite who had employed the cat to smuggle the potential jail breaking contraband into the prison have so far proved unsuccessful. In spite of close interrogation, the cat has so far said nothing. Seems that those responsible for hiring the moggy have the “purrfect” accomplice.

Finally today we had the story of the cleaner who stole a passenger train from a station in a suburb of the Swedish capital, Stockholm. As a driver she proved relatively successful, well at least at first. The mile long ride proceeded reasonably smoothly, smoothly that is until it came to stopping at the terminus. Unfortunately the train, like its driver, went off the rails and ploughed into an apartment block, which at 3 in the morning, must have proved a rude awakening for the residents.

Well that’s it from me. Keep warm if you can.
