The Lactic Fallout

Early Sunday morning over 100 runners took part in the Lactic Fallout, a wet and muddy 7 mile cross country run and obstacle course across farmland near the Secret Nuclear Bunker in Kelvedon Hatch. The event was a great success and most people finished the gruelling race smiling! Phoenix FM’s Helen and Stephen headed to the event to hear from the organiser and supporters and to find out why the runners decided to take part in such a crazy event. You can hear about all the action at the race by clicking below:

The race included several obstacles including a water slide, wading through a smelly pond, a hay stack and trenches approximately 6 feet deep. Photos of the race including runners tackling some of the obstacles can be seen below:

The race was in aid of St Clare’s Hospice and part of the entrance fee will be going to the hospice. The race was organised by Tracey Alexandrou and she has organised other similar obstacle races. The other similar races are being held next year in May, these are, the Lactic Rush, an 8 mile obstacle race and the Mini Rush, the children’s race.
