The ‘Electric Head,’ Disability & Local Tweetup

Monday 10th October:

I spoke about the importance of sleep in relation to Cortisol control, mental health and body fat storage. For more information email me gabriella@mindhealthmovement.com. I also played Ed Wellman’s (Sunday Breakfast Show) recent interviews that all took place at The Thorndon Stride! Another brilliant event, here in Brentwood for Cancer Research UK’s ‘join the flight’ campaign.

I played Nikki Mills (In The Mix) interview with Leona Lewis which took place at the Hopefield Animal Sanctuary’s fund raising walking event last weekend. Click below for more!

Wednesday:

Guests – Comedy Duo Cy Henty and Al Ronald, ‘The Electric Head’ came into Phoenix to speak about the latest ventures with their manager who lives in a jar and is made out of clay (whether or not this is a replica of their real manager is unknown). To see and hear more from this hilarious pair of men see:

I spoke about Chinese cuisine and  the importance of cooking from scratch using butter, palm or coconut oil to ensure your food doesn’t contain MSG or Trans Fats. I followed this up with a Duck Sauce Recipe. I also gave information for mums who want to get their body back after child birth and exercise guild lines for post-natal health and fitness. Email gabriella@mindhealthmovement.com for more information on the recipes and exercise guidelines.

Thursday:

Tamsin Ball (my mother) speaks to me on Drive about having a car accident at the age of 21, suffering a brain injury and life now as a disabled but active woman in Brentwood. To hear our chat click below:

I also discussed how important eye care is for those diagnosed with diabetes and what foods are nutritious to the eyes when consumed. At 5 o’clock in walked Keith Brown from the FSB to speak about local business news for Brentwood and Billericay and results from The Essex Food Show! Plus how you react to mistakes depends on your mindset from the psychology part of my Drive show.

Friday:

Scott Hornsby came in to the studio to explain what the Brentwood and Billericay Tweetups are, why he set them up and why people might want to go! Scott is passionate about social networking and if you like getting involved in the local community and meeting new people be it social or business contacts why don’t you come along. See the Tweetup website more details below. Listen again to my chat with Scott:

Here are the ingredients for my restorative Nettle Soup for immunity and recovery, inspired by the amount of people with the usual colds of coughs at this time which I shared with my listeners on Friday’s Drive show:

1 teaspoon of butter, palm or coconut oil for cooking

1 large bag of wild nettle tops

1 finely chopped large sweet potato or 1/2 butternut squash

1 finely chopped onion

1 litre of homemade vegetable stock

150ml fat free natural yogurt or quark cheese (plain Soya yoghurt suitable for those that are lactose intolerant)

Freshly ground nutmeg and black pepper

Fry the finely chopped vegetables in the coconut or palm oil or in real butter for 2-3 minutes. Cover with stock, add the nettle tops and simmer for 15 minutes. Cool, puree and then gently heat adding the nutmeg, pepper and yogurt or cheese.
