BRENTWOOD ART TRAIL
You will notice Phoenix FM now has some marvellous art work displayed in the windows. Local artist David Smith came in to the studio to set up the display of local artist’s work, which you can also purchase.
David has so much enthusiasm for art and took up painting after he retired. He also practices Thai Chi which is why I felt very relaxed in his calm company. David has three paintings on display. Other works on display is that of local artist, Phil Hinde.
The Brentwood Art Trail was developed in 2009 to bring together local artists, talented people and local businesses. Now in its 3rd year, 2011’s trail will showcase some fantastic local artwork whilst encouraging visitors to take a look at the Borough’s many heritage spots too.
As you know, I set a Question of the Day on Facebook every evening. I then wait with bated breath for the responses, some of which are not for the air! Here are few of Friday’s answers.
QUESTION OF THE DAY (FRIDAY) Camping? Fun or something for sadists?
Karen “Sadists Holiday”.
Natalie “Never done it but I’m under pressure. So we are going to a location 4 miles away soon (back of our wedding venue) so I can come home and straighten my hair if I need to!!
Denise “Definitely for SADISTS. Who in their right mind would take a group of people and put them in a nylon hut with no running water, no heating, no electricity, nowhere to go when you want to cry or fart, nowhere to hang your clothes or chill your wine. If it rains you get damp cold, wet and miserable. Give me a 5* hotel anyday”.
Sam “there is nothing romantic sleeping in a tent!!! Although we did have electricity so at least I could use my straighteners that were one of the demands of Jo and me there must be electricity and showers and most importantly a bar!!!!
Mat “camping’s great…if done in the middle of nowhere..mountainside or moors etc…wash in the stream..open fire,etc..no phones or tv or other crap….just nature…sorry but women cant cope with it due their obsession on what they look like……and the need to be warm etc…..saying that, took some teenage girls and female foster kids camping a few years ago….they thought they’d hate it….but they loved it as it was so different to everyday life…and for the weekend, they felt free of pressures back home etc.
Ms Sweeney… Always a joy to have the morning handover chat lives on air with the delectable Breakfast Show Host, Emma Sweeney. I am buying her sweets most mornings, Thursday was a Muffin with icing and Friday was a lolly pop. I am also buying myself sweets too.. gotta stop that before I need a reinforced chair.
