Drive – Le Mat

Back in the eighties, the Leepers knocked on the doors of the big time, at the height of their career supporting Duran Duran on tour and being ‘loved’ by Kerrang magazine. The band decided to change direction with their music and became Le Mat. With the pressure of staying true to their music in the face of opposing demands from PR gurus, the guys opted for a less stressful way to make a living called it a day.

Then one day last year, a phone call between two of the members led to the five-piece reforming and once again go out gigging but this time purely for the love of it. With plenty of interesting stories, Mark and Gary were in the studio tonight reminiscing about times gone by ahead of a live performance at Chinnery’s in Southend tomorrow evening.[audio:https://www.phoenixfm.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/Le-Mat-Interview.mp3|titles=Le Mat – Interview]
