Drive – Solarisdreams & Mike Jones

Milton Keynes and Sheffield beckoned at the beginning of the week, so many thanks to Graham Stannard sitting in on Monday and Tuesday with regular guests Mark Reed and Keith Brown. James Potten did a blinder stepping in at the last minute yesterday too so thanks for that.

Owing to my absence this week’s local sports report was a little late but, as they say, better late than never. Mike Jones filled us in on the shenanigans of the weekend. My guest live at five was Solarisdreams (www.solarisdreams.com) aka Stuart, a one man band who bravely stepped out of his comfort zone of bass, and took to the acoustic guitar for a live set in the studio. An inspiring story of how he broke away from bands to play the type of music he wanted to play, and funny tales of Christmas gigs and being put up in less-than-desirable conditions. Stuart did well on the Drive Name That Tune Challenge 2011 too, scoring 15 out of 20. As I always say if you get more than half marks, you’re doing well.
