Last Forever Sunday

This was my last show for a while as I am heading off to New Zealand to travel.

Played tonight:

Maverick Sabre- No One
The Maccabees- Pelican
Mull Historical Society- City Lights
The Futureheads- Heatbeat Song
Black Lips- New Direction
The Vaccines- Wetsuit
Plan B- She Said
Ellie Goulding- The Writer
Frank Turner- The Road
The Ting Tings- Hang It Up
Arctic Monkeys- I bet you look good on the dance floor
Jack Johnson- Breakdown
Bombay Bicycle Club- Leave It

The clues to this weeks guess the lyric were:
The song is from the album ‘Final Straw’, the band headlined at V festival when Oasis pulled out and Leona Lewis has covered this song.
The answer was: Snow Patrol- Run

In this weeks ‘You heard it here second’ I looked at Scott Ross’ show Bygones. On his show he had local author Frances Clamp in to discuss the history of the Brentwood Ursuline School. The school is an all girls school, founded in the 1900’s, which used to be run by nuns. So I thought that The Eurythmics and Aretha Franklin- Sisters are doing it for themselves, would be a good song to end this feature.

As it is my last show, I chose S Club 7, Say Goodbye as this weeks cheesy song.

Keep listening to Phoenix FM, I off to the other side of the world, bye!

Happy New Year from Forever Sunday

The first show of the New Year was a fantastic one (if I may say so myself!). I played you some songs from the albums that I got at Christmas, Ed Sheeran- +, Adele- 21 and Ben Howard- Every Kingdom.

The answer to the guess the lyric was The Kooks- Naive (again! I love that song).

Festive Forever Sunday

As it was the week before Christmas, Forever Sunday went all Christmassy, with excessive use of the Phoenix FM Christmas jingles and beds! We played Christmas tunes such as:

Answer to Guess the Lyric- The Waitresses- Christmas Wrapping

In this weeks ‘You Heard it Here Second’ we looked at Elliott Smith’s Saturday evening show, The Late Night Lock In. Elliott is into similar music as me, so it was easy to find a song I liked from his playlist. I went for Olly Murs- In Case You Didn’t Know.

Have a very happy Christmas, look forward to you listening to my show in the New Year.

The answer to this weeks guess the lyric was Mika- Grace Kelly. Well done to the person who text in getting the right answer, unfortunately you didn’t provide us with your name!

New Arctic Monkeys song

This week I played the new Arctic Monkeys song, called Evil Twin.  It is the B side to Suck it and See and, unlike Suck it and See, it is not on their current album.  I also played new music from Yuck- Soothe me and Bruno Mars- It will rain.

This week’s guess the lyric was curtsey of Coldplay, with Viva la Vida.

And I played White Denim- Drug, from Alex Fletchers show, in the feature ‘you heard it here second’.

Make sure you tune in, same time, next Sunday 🙂

Forever Sunday 13th November 2011

Tonight I played a few oldies including Bon Jovi, You give love a bad name, and Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls.  Iris, by the Goo Goo Dolls is back in this weeks chart, at number 36, I have no idea why though!

I took a look at ‘Saturday Night Rock’ in my feature ‘You heard it here second’ and I chose The Coral, Dreaming of you from Luke Cousins playlist.

Tune in, same time, next week. 8-10pm Sunday.

Forever Sunday 6/11/11

This week on Forever Sunday we took a look at what went on at the Lactic Fallout, at the Secret Nuclear Bunker. I spoke to some of the runners and spectators at the event, as well as Tracey, the organiser. You can listen again to the interviews and see the photos by clicking on ‘The Lactic Fallout’ on the home page.

The correct answer to my guess the lyric was Jack Johnson- Banana Pancakes.

My cheesy song this week was ‘Up’ by the Saturdays.

I also took a look at Stephen’s show, ‘The way it used to be’, which is on Phoenix FM from 10pm- 12 on Wednesdays. Stephen plays a range of 80’s music and I chose Tiffany, I think were alone now, from his playlist.
