The big news this week is the signing of Paul Konchesky, the ex-premiership and international player, someone with a wealth of experience, it doesn’t get much bigger than that in the Ryman League.

The other big story is Craig Edwards who has been the clubs manager for 7yrs has decided to leave the club. Craig has been successful in his time with BTFC taking them to the title in 2011/12 as well as winning a cup. He was a good manager and worked well with limited resources during his tenure. It doesn’t appear there will be time to sign a new manager before the end of the season so Glenn Tamplin will take over with the assistance of senior professionals at the club.

On Tuesday 28th February BTFC drew 2-2 at Enfield, it was another hard fought game, we were leading 2-0 when we suffered another unfortunate sending off of Alex Stephenson. There were some very good performances, new goal keeper Alan Julian, Matt Johnson, Adam Cunnington & new signing Mekhi McLeod. We now move forward to the away fixture at Harlow Town on Saturday which should include Paul Konchesky making his club debut.

With 11 league games left 29 points is still a possibility, teams in previous seasons have reached the playoffs with 80+ points, so the dream is still a possibility, to gain a playoff spot. The next home game is Saturday 11th March v Burgess Hill, I think we can anticipate a big crowd to see Paul make his home debut, but can we beat the season’s highest (561), I hope so.

So much is happening at the club, but I think this weeks events have been the biggest so far, I wonder what next week has in store for our club.
