Brentwood Festival announce final headliner – Level 42

Festivalgoers in Brentwood will be living it up as the sun goes down with the addition of its final headliner, LEVEL 42.

Level 42_2

The band were a mainstay of the charts in the 1980s and beyond, enjoying six top 10 singles and six top 10 albums in the UK, including hits such as Lessons in Love, Something About You, Leaving Me Now, Running in the Family and The Chinese Way. They will be supported on Saturday 16 July by well known ska/reggae outfit The Dualers and Essex rock band Missing Andy.

Jazz funk group, The Brand New Heavies, will bring their set to the festival’s Friday line up. Best known for their 1990s hits like Midnight at the Oasis, Never Stop, and Dream on Dreamer, the band will perform alongside British soul stars, Soul II Soul.

A free after party for ticket holders will take place on the Friday and Saturday nights until 1am, featuring Phoenix FM’s very own Tony Smith and Pete Lacey of Ska ‘n Mash.

Festival Director, Jason Jopson, said, “We really stepped up the festival last year with headliners like Billy Ocean, The Human League and Sister Sledge. People have told us they want an 8’s rewind weekend, which we think we’ve delivered with performers like Tony Hadley, ABC, The Boomtown Rats, Soul II Soul and now Level 42. The whole festival team is really excited about the line up and looking forward to July already!”

Held in aid of charity each year, the Brentwood Festival will also feature a real ale tent sponsored by Brentwood Brewing Company, street food, free children’s activities, festival market and funfair.

Tickets are on sale from 14 February via www.brentwoodfestival.co.uk/tickets

If you would like to volunteer at the festival, please contact the events team on info@brentwoodfestival.co.uk.
