50SOC: Introducing Mad Winter

Mad Winter are a four-piece indie rock band from Manchester. Our main musical influences come from Stereophonics, Foals, Catfish and the Bottlemen and Noel Gallagher.

The members of the band are Scott Morris on bass, James Hartley on vocals and rhythm guitar, George Fitzgibbon on lead guitar and backing vocals and Callum Thomson on drums.

Mad Winter

The members met at Access To Music in October 2014. The band began by making acoustic songs, then moved onto an indie-dance genre until Summer 2015 when they started to turn and speed things up to become louder and rockier.

Since then, Mad Winter have put a lot of hard work into gigging, song writing and covering and have produced our their home recorded, 5 track EP.

The EP was released on the 21st of November at our headline gig at Academy 3 – their biggest gig to date. It was also where the pictures above were taken. The EP was uploaded onto SoundCloud on the same day as well – which this link will take you straight to:

Mad Winters have already began working on our second EP and have a number of gigs booked for the early months of 2016 – Including Manchester Club Academy and the MET in Bury.
