A GOOD DAY FOR AN INDOOR PACKED LUNCH

I can hardly believe it, this time last week I was sitting in the outside, cradling a beer and looking out through palm trees over a sun drenched beach leading down to the Atlantic Ocean. And just look at it now!

Well at least I was lucky to welcome two surprise guests on to today’s show. A Vintage Fayre is being staged at the BRENTWOOD CENTRE all this weekend and I was joined, not only by the organiser of the event, but also one of the acts performing live on stage.

First off were Will, Nick and Billy, who together are the rock ‘n roll band Fever. Will as the leader and founder of the band is on vocals and double bass, his son Billy is on drums and Nick is on guitar, but also does some vocals and dance routines. The boss though, is Will’s fiancee! When I chatted with the band they were just between shows, having just come off stage and were preparing to go on and do another set. You can listen to my chat with them here: – [audio:https://www.phoenixfm.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/Fever.mp3|titles=Fever]

Then the man in charge of the whole event, Steve Cooper popped in to explain all about the many things to see and do at the event. Not only is there a large number of artists performing live but also displays of vintage vehicles and stalls where you can buy everything from old records (including 78’s) and fashion goods dating back to the 1930’s. Here what Steve had to say on the event here and then get on down there and enjoy: –

In a very busy programme, we had a double helping of Bygones features from Frances Clamp who, in my absence was talking to Bryan Powis, firstly about Stockwell Hall and later about the Great Storm of 1987. Listen to both clips again here: – [audio:https://www.phoenixfm.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/Bygones-13th-November2.mp3|titles=Bygones 13th November][audio:https://www.phoenixfm.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/Bygones-20th-November2.mp3|titles=Bygones 20th November]

Well that’s November done and dusted. Next week we will be in darkest December so see you then. Meantime try not to float away or get blown away in all this lousy weather.

All the best,

Scott
