AN AUTUMN EXTRAVAGANZA OF MUSIC

Well the weekend is with us again and after the deluge we had yesterday, mercifully for a Saturday,  dry and mild.

Today’s show featured the usual mix of great new songs from Little Mix, Olly Murrs, Train and One Direction and favourites from people like Michael Buble, Edwin Starr, George Harrison, Bucks Fizz, Fun, Maroon 5 and Keane to name but a few.

I don’t know if it is just me but the new song, Top Floor  from P45 seems rather similar to the old Madness hit, Baggy Trousers so I played the two songs back-to-back. I’d be very interested to hear what you think.

The good news was that Frances Clamp returned – well at least for this week. This was very fortunate as I had been especially unsuccessful in my efforts to uncover any history relating to South Green in Billericay. Fortunately Frances came up trumps and you can listen again to what she had to say on this subject right here: – [audio:https://www.phoenixfm.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Bygones-16th-October.mp3|titles=Bygones 16th October]

Well next week is the final week before the clocks go back. Don’t know about you but I really hate that so we’ll need to play some especially happy sounds to keep our spirits up. See you for that next Saturday at Noon. Have a good week til then.
