This past 7 days I have been heavily obsessed with two things. The first is Here And Nowhere Else, which is the new album from noise-rockers Cloud Nothings. Their last effort being Attack On Memory which was a favourite of the show back in 2012 and was in fact my album of the year for that year. The phrase with the new album is most definitely “if it ain’t broke it don’t need fixing” as you get another 30 minute onslaught of lo-fi noise rock that makes you put the needle back at the start as soon as it’s over. Or put the CD back to track one. Or put the 8-track..you get the message.
Ridiculously essential.
Secondly, I’ve been repeatedly hammering over and over again the discography of Olympia band Beat Happening. Indie pop at it’s finest across five studio albums and a must have
b-sides and rarities compilation. Sometimes a band just crawls their way into your heart and really catches you in their grasp. Beat Happening are one of these bands.
