GR80’s at the Movies!

This week I played tracks that featured in 80’s films. I also had a special Bond moment!

The first Bond film of the 80’s was For Your Eyes Only in 1981. It was the 12th in the James Bond series and the 5th to star Roger Moore as the fictional MI6 agent.

The next film was Octopussy in 1983, then A View to a Kill in 1985. In June 1984 the 007 Stage was almost entirely destroyed by fire but was rebuilt in time for production and reopened in January 1985.

With the retirement of Roger Moore following A View to a Kill, the producers searched for a new Bond and eventually cast Timothy Dalton in the lead role for The Living Daylights in 1987.

Finally, in 1989 we had Licence to Kill which was the first one not to use the title of an Ian Fleming story. Budgetary reasons resulted in Licence to Kill becoming the first Bond film to be shot entirely outside the United Kingdom.
