Leopards Look for Early Christmas Present

Dave Ryan reports…

Levett Essex Leopards will look to end 2017 in style when they host Middlesex LTBC at the Brentwood Centre on Sunday, 4pm.

Both sides will go into the game on the back of postponements due to the snow on Sunday, and neither team has played since November. With several players across Herts, Essex and Bedfordshire unable to travel to London Greenhouse Pioneers on Sunday, the Big Cats reluctantly asked for a postponement.

Middlesex LTBC consists entirely of Lithuanians and won promotion from Division Three South last season.

With disciplinary issues causing them problems, Sunday’s visitors to the Brentwood Centre have had a tough start to the campaign and are joint tenth in the 12-team Division Two with a 2-7 record.

Early Division Two title favourites Thames Valley Cavaliers proved to be their bogey team in both the National Cup and Patrons Cup, although they did beat Sussex Bears  in the latter competition.

Prior to Sunday’s game, the Big Cats are again staging their popular pre-game coaching session with the Leopards’ players, further details are available by calling 07828 470015.

Along with the postponed game at Pioneers, there are a number of fixture changes for the Big Cats.

With Team Birmingham Elite having reached the Patron’s Cup semi-final, Sussex Bears will replace them as visitors to the Brentwood Centre on Sunday February 4.

Thames Valley will now visit Brentwood on Sunday February 11, and the club are currently trying to arrange a date for the Birmingham game.
