A strong performance from the Blues saw them easily defeat their Southern League Premier opponents in this rainy pre-season friendly.
Billericay had a few chances in the first half hour and took the lead after 31 minutes when Casey converted into his own goal after a Waldren free kick.
Ellul thumped home a header ten minutes later to give the Blues a 2-0 lead at half time.
Bishop’s Stortford brought on Spriggs and Richefond for Gledhill and Hickford during the break. Billericay made more wholesale changes with Julian, Urquhart, O’Hara, Konchesky, Bricknell, Theophanous, Deering, Robinson, Davis and Modeste all coming on. Danny Waldren was the only player to stay on the pitch.
The changes benefitted the home team more as Tapley pulled it back to 2-1 from a corner.
On 55 minutes Sam Deering extended the lead, curling in a shot past goalkeeper Voss.
Deering followed it up with a second goal 10 minutes later with another powerful shot into the bottom corner.
Jamie O’Hara limped off after the goal and was replaced by Walker.
Modeste was fouled by Danquaa after 68 minutes and a penalty was awarded to Billericay, which Bricknell duly converted.
The Blues made it 6-1 with Theopaneous shooting home after some pinball in the Bishop’s Stortford box.
The home team pulled back another goal on 83 minutes with Richefond converting after good work from Calvin Ekpiteta, and the score finished 6-2 to Billericay.
