Synth City: That’s the Spirit

SC banner 8

On a spirited week in which we synth fans tried to digest the latest studio album from Basildon’s finest export- Depeche Mode, we cherry picked two tracks from the album ‘Spirit‘; which was not an easy job, especially as a lot of people have firm opinions on the merits of the new album, still I laced-in a rather cool Depeche Mode  cover that features on a promising spring Sci-Fi comic heroine based blockbuster.  We had loads more new music this week from Where The Night Falls , Formatic, AudioDeluxe and we had, not one but 2 great new covers of two classic tracks. First up was a track from a USA artist Ki:Theory and then another delightful cover from, Daysound featuring Neil Francis – You will have to listen to find out who their cover tracks are. I dropped the odd synth classic track as per, a few current chart type numbers and by sods law this week, I had an extra Voxless edged into the show, from Rodney Cromwell no less. Finally, as it is getting so much closer to the big one-day festival in London- Synth Wave Live, we had 3 more of the artists played on the show, who are  due to play live in Hoxton on April 1st.

Feel free to check out and maybe share around, the specially produced rerun of the live radio show via Mixcloud;
