First up tonight I was joined in the studio by Mike and Joe from The Ends. Since The Ends’ last appearance on the show last year, they’ve grown from a quartet to a quintet, with the addition of guitarist Ashley. They’ve been out of the public eye for much of the year and we heard tonight what they’ve been up to, most of it involving recording new material. Their return to the live scene is imminent, with an Essex Arms gig in Brentwood on September 23rd and supporting The Enemy on their final 3 shows in Coventry in October. Find out more at www.theends.co.uk. Click above to listen back to them chatting about how their sound has progressed with recording the new material, working with The Enemy frontman Tom, and Joe’s notable body features…

Next up it was the return of Arfur Doo & The Toerags (l-r Tim, Judy, Simon, Wayne, Fran). Since their first appearance on the show in 2014, the fivesome have released their debut album A Bit of a Doo and gigged across the UK. Although specialising mainly in traditional folk covers, they are looking to record original material soon, and with a variety of instruments in their itinerary, it’ll be a great listen for sure. Find out about their upcoming gigs & news on their Facebook page. Click above to listen back to the full interview & session (plus live videos below!), and find out which member has the strongest lungs, plus we try to come up with song titles for their own material…
