Since releasing his debut album Flamingo in 2010, Brandon Flowers seems to have shifted attention from his band The Killers back to his solo work. His latest offering The Desired Effect came out this year, and so far has had good reviews! However, you can’t deny that The Killers’ debut album Hot Fuss, was arguably one of the best rock albums of its time! And now Brandon has started playing a few new versions of these old tunes. My track of the week signifies this, as it was the song ‘Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine’, which was on that debut album. This new acoustic spin on the track works really well, and if you are a fan of Hot Fuss, or The Killers in general, I would suggest you listen to this redone version, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised!
A song I haven’t heard for a while is Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’, which is strange considering it was played non-stop for about a year after it was released! This track was my something a little bit different this week, and I still believe this is an exceptional track, I’m just glad it’s not overplayed anymore!
