Fashoda Crisis (Interview & First Listen) – 27/04/14

Fashoda

If I ever needed reminding of how lucky I am to do what I do, I was reminded this evening, driving along the A127 listening for the first time to the forthcoming new album from Southend noise-mongers Fashoda Crisis entitled Almost Everyone is Entirely Average at Almost Everything (try saying that when you’ve been at the Babycham!). I don’t want to give too much away but dare I say it this is their best work yet. The gents have expanded on their sound with elements of post-rock and there is even a pop song! All done with the usual satirical charm, noisy guitars and a good dose of shouting.
Vocalist / guitarist Sim was kind enough to join me in the studio to tell me all about the album and to give his opinions on Spotify, Record Store Day and Gap (although we aren’t sure whether the Gap chain still exists). Below you can listen to the interview with Sim along with three tracks from the album (I’ll be supplying a release date as soon as it’s official). And below the playlist you can listen to the whole show repeatedly to your hearts content. And if you wish to find out more about the band, their website is https://fashodacrisis.com/
Also, here’s a link to a charity festival that Fashoda will be playing this coming weekend, Cosmic Puffin. Do check them out. https://www.cosmicpuffin.org.uk/
See you next time!
