A couple of weeks ago I really thought spring had sprung. How wrong can you be? After a week which started out with ice and snow now we have wind and rain – certainly not the sort of weather to enjoy a packed lunch, well certainly not if you’re outdoors. Nevertheless a great day to enjoy a take-away under cover, next to a radiator with your radio tuned to Phoenix and turned up good and loud.
As usual we enjoyed a fabulous collection of music, both old and new from the likes of Dandy Warhols and Top Loader to Joe Cocker and Missing Andy. There are some great new releases out there right now and on today’s show I indulged myself by playing a whole heap of them by the likes of Train, Flo Rida, Bastille, Little Mix, One Direction, The Stereophonics, Fun, not forgetting the sensational new release, “22” by Taylor Swift.
As we had a bit of a change around during the week just gone, it was to Michelle Ward that Frances Clamp was regaling the history of the old chapel ruins in Brentwood High Street as well as the Chaplain’s House which dates from 1221. Listen again to what Frances had to say right here: – [audio:https://www.phoenixfm.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Bygones-12th-March1.mp3|titles=Bygones 12th March]
Next week it’s our birthday weekend so there’ll be much dancing in the streets. See you there and save a bit of birthday cake for me. Til then have as great week.
All the best,
Scott
