A Feast of Music ahead of Christmas

Well it is just 10 days to go to the big day (assuming, of course, that the world doesn’t end next Friday, but still for me a bit too soon to be churning out all that Christmas music (bah Humbug!).

I did, however succumb and played a few Christmas songs – one was a request for Harry Belefonte’s 1956 hit “Mary’s Boy Child” –  I remember buying that record on a 78rpm disc. I also played two other Christmas songs from Elton John and the Pogues. But next week I will play more in the way of Christmas music.

We just had our Christmas party at Phoenix so if you heard vacuuming noises in the background today it was Alan Johnson doing a strerling job in cleaning the studio.

Frances Clamp popped in as usual with the story of BILLERICAY BRICKWORKS – that was in today’s edition of Brentwood & Billericay Bygones. Listen to what she had to say here: -[audio:https://www.phoenixfm.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Bygones-11th-December1.mp3|titles=Bygones 11th December]

Right all being well I’ll see you next week at the same time
