Al gust of Olympian fun

Hard to compete with Danny Boy; and his Brilliant Olympic opening ceremony aftermath, but I think we had a good show…. we had the last episode of The Lighthouse comedy, special remix tracs from Ultravox and the Human league….comedy guide and gig guides.

Plus twofers was all about an American with a good sense of humour – Bruce Springsteen – we played . ‘Born to Run’ and ‘Hungry Heart’….luckily no one cut the power midway through  this set

My Comedy show picks for this week……

See Paul Merton, at the Comedy Store – 29th July 2012 • Comedy Store

Paul Merton will be joining the Comedy Store Players for a night of comedy improvisation at the Comedy Store. Other comedians on the bill include Lee Simpson, Richard Vranch, Andy Smart, Neil Mullarkey and Niall Ashdown.

Eddie Izzard: Work in Progress – 1st – 11th Aug 2012 • Soho Theatre

The legendary Eddie Izzard is in residence at the Soho Theatre for an entire month, working on new material for an upcoming show. The neon-lit Soho Theatre is one of London’s smaller venues, right in the heart of London.

Micky Flanagan: Work in Progress 1st – 2nd Aug 2012 • Soho Theatre

Micky Flanagan is coming to the Soho Theatre for a series of work in progress shows. Using his East End background and Cockney wit, Micky will tell a tale of his working class childhood.

My music pick for this week;

Wed 01 Aug

Chapel Club – Birthdays, Stoke Newington

London indie-rock five piece whose debut album Palace was released in January 2011 and saw them break into the UK top 40. Enjoying a successful year in 2010.

Wed 01 Aug

The Levellers – Hyde Park, London

Grungy rural rockers who are influenced by traditional English music, as well as punk and rock. The band had hits with albums ‘Levelling the Land’ and the single ‘One Way’.
