Jolly jolly jumbo captain? I sure am! – this week saw me privately awarded a “Best Show in Show, on radio” award for radio talk / music excellence by my immediate family and a small number of friends. And whilst this award, written on the blank side of some wrapping paper, is not as widely recognised as the Sony or NAB Marconi Radio Awards it’s encouraging, and perhaps, as my mother reminded me, should not be sniffed at. It came from a more loving and generous place than most industry awards and definitely takes up less place on my bookshelf. She knows how neat and tidy I like my things.
Here is the music that contributed to the award and cake party held in my honour for a terrific show. Both the people in the ‘chatroom’ also agreed by their forthright silence when I messaged them saying.. “was it bad?”.. I think thats says it all. Not even worth replying Jumbo Captain.. of course it wasn’t you humble, brave man.
