‘Go real ah’, in the Mist

I must be odd, as I really enjoyed the foggy morning this week……that maybe because I didn’t stand out in my Gibus Hat, frock coat and Ivory capped walking cain, as I strolled through the mist like some sort of Edwardian fop. An just to expand your picture of me,  I will be running a 3 mile Cross Country race on Sunday, down in muddy glades of Epping Forest, for no other reason but to support and encourage young member of London’s Air Cadets.

Just to show I’ve no musical bias, this weeks ‘Twofers’ came from the evergreen superstar of ours….. Sir Cliff Richard – we played ‘Carrie’ and ‘Wired for Sound’.

My Comedy show picks for this week……

Jason Manford — O2 Arena – 29th Nov 2011 • O2 Arena

Jason Manford is coming to The O2 in November with his first-ever arena show. He has recently appeared on everything from the BBC’s “The One Show” and “Live at the Apollo” to Channel 4′s “8 out of 10 Cats” and the Royal Variety Performance.

Andy Parsons gets “Gruntled” 30th Nov 2011 • Leicester Square Theatre

Andy Parsons (star of TV’s “Mock The Week”) will be bringing his “Gruntled” tour to a close with a show at the Leicester Square Theatre. This is his third UK tour, and covers everything from the coalition, to cuts, comedy and what it’s like discovering a pair of pants in a jar of mayonnaise.

Stephen Merchant: “Hello Ladies…” – 1st – 3rd Dec 2011 • Hammersmith Apollo

Stephen Merchant, the award winning co-creator of “The Office” and “Extras”, is embarking on his first ever stand-up comedy tour. “Stephen Merchant: Hello Ladies…” will be playing at the Hammersmith Apollo this November/December.

Live music pick for this week;

Wed 30 Nov

The Go! Team – Koko, Camden

The Go! Team are an exciting six-piece indie band from Brighton, which began life as a curious musical project from Ian Parton to combine guitars, double dutch chants, bollywood soundtracks, and old school hip hop and electro. Their first album, recorded in Parton’s parents’ kitchen: ‘Thunder, Lightning, Strike’, was Mercury nominated in 2005 and required the formation of a band to tour its songs.

Thu 01 Dec

M83 – Heaven, Charring cross

Shoegazing electronica rock band from Antibes in France.

Fri 02 Dec

Grant Hart (Hüsker Dü) – Monto Water Rats Theatre

A gig from Grant Hart, a founder member of Hüsker Dü, who provided the sonic blueprint for the roaring punk-pop hybrid that crossed over into the mainstream in the early 90s.

Sat 03 Dec

The Kills – O2 Academy Brixton

Garage rock duo The Kills were formed in 2000 by American singer Alison Mosshart and British guitarist Jamie Hince. With a thoroughly uncompromising approach to music, the indie-rockers band have thrilled the music press with their minimalist live shows and rasping vocals.
