facebook.com/GR80sRadioShow @Gr80sRadioShow

Here I am! Now on Tuesday’s, 6-8pm. Still playing the very best 80’s tunes and sharing some of the news events, trivia and your memories.

NEWS THIS WEEK
1981 – The IBM Personal Computer is released. Pricing started at $1,565 (about £2,500 in today’s money) for a configuration with 16K RAM, Color Graphics Adapter, and no disk drives
The IBM PC was immediately successful. The press reported a rumor that more than 40,000 were ordered on the day of the announcement; one dealer reportedly received 22 $1,000 deposits from customers although he could not promise a delivery date!

1984 – “We begin bombing in five minutes” – United States President Ronald Reagan, while running for re-election, jokes while preparing to make his weekly Saturday address on National Public Radio. Contrary to popular misconception, this microphone gaffe was not broadcast over the air.
