Ziggy Played Guitar – 10/01/12

The legend that is David Bowie turned 65 this week so this weeks show is dedicated to The Thin White Duke. We celebrated this by having Bowie as our featured artist this week (instead of the usual featured album), playing some of our favourite tracks from over the years. We also dedicated our usual covers section as well playing a few of the many great bands that have covered Bowie.
Reunion fever was back again this week as both Refused and At The Drive-In both announced that they were reforming and confirmed that they are both playing this years Coachella festival (which has a pretty unbelievable line up!). Fingers crossed both bands will be touring the UK and we’ll keep you informed as to when these are announced.
There was also new tracks from La Sera, whose second album See The Light will be relased in March along with The Shins new album Port Of Morrow, which we here at 33RPM are very very excited about, new track Simple Song (which we played), is typically great stuff so the new album should be brilliant.
A special mention as well to a reissued gem from ’96 I picked up this week by Porter Ricks entitled Biokinetics, a stunning ambient / dub album which blew me away on first listen (it’s racked up about 15 since I got it).
Playlist is below and I will see you next week for more great music.
