Surprise, surprise!

I couldn’t resist this story of a homecoming that clearly was far from welcome!

Yes, a homecoming surprise awaited the vacationing, SUSAN HODGSON of Atlanta as on her return she discovered that her long-term family house had been turned into just a pile of rubble, courtesy of local firm, YOU CALL IT, WE HAUL IT.

The company claims to have been proudly serving the Atlanta metro area for over 30 years and that customers’ needs are just one call away.

Well to date that one call asking for an explanation has yet to be answered!

Whilst still on holiday a neighbour of M/s Hodgson contacted her to ask if she’d hired a contractor to tear her house down, but when the same neighbour intervened with the crew on the site, she was told to “shut up and mind her own business”.

Clearly customer service and satisfaction are top of the company’s ideals, then!

Consequently M/s Hodgson sent a family member over who asked to see a permit, which when checked confirmed that they were indeed at the wrong address.

So that’s alright then is it?

M/s Hodgson has filed a report with police and contacted her lawyer, but the company itself has yet to formally respond.

Their slogan is, “Working with us means competitive pricing and efficiency as we show up and meet or beat competitor prices. To get started and enjoy a clean slate, contact us today.”

Not sure about a clean slate, but a clear plot is certainly on the cards!

Meanwhile taking us back to earlier, and possibly a less stressful time, Margaret Mills joined me once again to take us on a journey to Colchester which during the 18th and 19th centuries, seems to have been a bit of a centre for sports.

If you missed what Margaret told me today, you can listen again here:-

If you’ve enjoyed today’s offering, I very much hope to have the pleasure of your company again tomorrow,
Scott
