Antonia Jones’ music review: Kid Ink live @Club 195

Kid Ink performing live

Kid Ink performing live @Club 195 April 16, 2017

Kid Ink, rapper and producer made a special guest appearance at Club 195, in Epping on 16 April. The L.A. performer, is best known for his Alist of collaborations with the likes of R&B’s Chris Brown and Usher, girl group Fifth Harmony, and Hip-Hop rappers Meek Mill and Wale.

Kid Ink, made his grand entrance to the venue surrounded by his entourage. He wowed the clubgoers with a selection of tracks, some of which have reached the Top 10, 20 and 40 in the UK Official, and US Billboard Charts and included, ‘Show Me’ and ‘Body Language’. He had everyone huddling around the DJ’s podium with their phones and flashlights to capture the moment, both singing and dancing non-stop to his lyrics, which have gained him his status in Hip-Hop and cross over into mainstream music worldwide.

The performance although short and sweet, was the last night of his two month European tour, and his now back in the States continuing with the promotion of his latest track ‘F with U’ which he also performed on the night. It features another Hip-Hop favourite Ty Dolla $ign, and the beat is from DJ Mustard and J Holt which samples Tamia’s 1998 R&B hit “So Into You”. This is not the first time that the pair have joined forces – they previously formed a collaboration with Blink -182 drummer Travis Barker on the all-Star Single ‘100’ featuring IamSu! And Tyga.

The rapper will release a new EP, 7 Series on May 5. You can see a snippet of the performance on my Instagram / Twitter page (link below).

Overall, Club 195 hosted a fantastic night, and most definitely it is the ‘go-to’ venue in Epping, Essex if searching for a place to chill and enjoy  great music – and not to forget it has regular guest appearances from DJ Colin Francis, celebrity guests and personalities.
