Billericay blog: 3 more games to go

The season is nearly over, only 3 league games left unless we make the playoffs. What a fantastic season it has been since Glenn took over in December, if anyone doubted his commitment to the club, I believe they can’t any longer. He continually displays his passion and commitment from the team bench and it was great to see him rewarded last night with the winning of the Ryman League Cup, beating Tonbridge 8-3. Glenn has made so many changes in the few months it has been difficult to keep up with them.

Everyone is talking about Billericay Town FC and their new owner, the atmosphere in the ground has completely changed, there is a real buzz and enthusiasm about the future, I feel winning last nights cup final is just the start. The last 3 home attendances have been over 1000+, we have gone from averages of under 300 to 500+, and its going to get a lot better.

On Saturday BTFC are away at Leatherhead and on Monday 17th April they are at home to Canvey Island, it would be great to finish the home matches with the biggest attendance of the season, anything over 1500 would be fantastic. If you want entertaining football come along and give it a try, we have a team capable of scoring lots of goals.

Although we still have an outside chance of the playoffs it will be very difficult, it would be good to finish the season with 3 wins. Whatever happens next season is going to be something to look forward to, Glenn has done everything he said he would and without doubt has a lot more planned for the club going into the future.
