1980 – Brian Johnson is made the new lead singer of AC/DC following the death of their second lead singer Bon Scott. Later in the year, the band released their album, Back in Black, which was made as a tribute to Bon Scott. The album launched them to new heights of success and became their all-time best-seller.

1988 – Alice Cooper almost died on stage when one of the props, the Gallows, malfunctioned. A safety rope broke during the stunt where he pretended to hang himself.
