“By this time next week it should be signed, sealed and delivered”
On Sunday, Ryman League Premier team Billericay Town FC made a shock announcement that the shareholders, Steve Kent and Grant Gordon, have agreed to sell their stake in the club to Glenn Tamplin.
Glenn led a consortium which has been in negotiations over the last few months to take over Conference side Dagenham and Redbridge. The deal has fallen through and Glenn has turned his attention to the New Lodge.
In an exclusive interview with Phoenix FM’s Paul Golder, Glenn talks about:
– his own personal history in non-league football as a player
– what happened with the Dagenham and Redbridge bid
– his plans for the team, the ground and how the club will reach out to the community
– where he expects the club to be at the end of his seven year plan
We then continued chatting about football in general on the full-size pitch in his garden!
Glenn’s plans are ambitious – but he clearly has conviction that Billericay Town can go to a whole new level.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on the exciting times ahead for the Blues.
