Hi Everyone!

My name is Courtney-Lee Collins, I am 16 years old (17 on the 5th of October!) and I have just launched my new show Don’t Stop The Beat on Phoenix FM! I’ll be here every Saturday night between 6 and 8pm bringing you some fantastic music from my favourite decades, the 80s, 90s, 00s and now!

I wanted to give you a bit of information about me so that you could get to know me. I started at Phoenix in July 2016 as a work experience student and was lucky enough to appear on shows such as 1-2-3 and the Drive Show. I loved my time at Phoenix so much that I came in on a Saturday and appeared on a few shows of Feel Good Saturday. Since it was the summer holidays, after training on these shows I covered a show of That Friday Feeling, then some others after that, then I was honoured to be asked to cover 4 Drive Shows while Keith was away, becoming Phoenix’s youngest ever drive time presenter and trust me that was not an easy task but I had a lot of fun doing it! Since then I’ve covered a few more shows and recently was extremely lucky to be asked to take on the 6-8pm slot on a Saturday as my permanent place and Don’t Stop The Beat was born!

As well as this I am a massive performing arts fan, I have been performing since the age of 5 so it is one of my great loves, I take part in two musicals a year with the Thurrock Operatic Society. I also compete in Charity Beauty Pageants, a very taboo topic with some people but one of the best decisions I have made in my entire life, I have met some of my best friends through pageants and raised well in excess of £10,000 for various charities. I’m an A Level student in year 12 currently studying Law, Psychology and English Literature which I am thoroughly enjoying too.

To give you an idea of what type of music I will be playing on my show, here is my playlist from last Saturday:

Justin Bieber – Sorry

Madcon – Beggin’

Alison Moyet – Invisible

John Newman – Ole

Eurythmics – Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)
