1981 – First episode of TV sitcom Only Fools and Horses broadcast on BBC One. Seven series were originally broadcast from 1981 to 1991, with nine sporadic Christmas specials until its end in 2003. The show is credited with the popularisation of several words and phrases used by Del Boy regularly, particularly “Plonker”, “Cushty” and “Lovely jubbly”.
