Sound Wave No 12 – Merry Christmas to all of you!

Hello there this was my last show before Christmas and i marked it by playing lots of festive tunes. I hope you enjoyed it!

So instead on entertainment news, I counted down the biggest selling Christmas songs of all time. It went a little something like this:

#1 Band Aid, Do They Know it’s Christmas

#2 Boney M, Mary’s Boy Child

#3 Wham! Last Christmas

#4 Slade, Merry Christmas Everybody

#5 Harry Belafonte, Mary’s Boy Child

#6 Band Aid 20, Do They Know it’s Christmas

#7 Bing Crosby, White Christmas

#8 The Pogues and Kirsty McCall, Fairytale of New York

#9 Cliff Richard, Millennium Prayer

#10 Johnny Mathis, What a Child is Born

My festive good news this week came in the form of an anonymous do gooder in the village of Hyannis, Massachusetts, in the USA. A man with a striking resemblance to Saint Nick has visited every fast food joint in the village and given out envelopes to all the workers. Each envelope contained $100 and read ‘Merry Christmas.’ However it’s not the first time this has happened, last year he visited giving out $50. My Track of the Week this week was a bit of a December flashback. A flashback to 1999 to be precise. Spice Girls, 2 become 1

My Playlist this week was very much taken up by Christmas but here it is anyway,

Spice Girls - 2 Become 1
Go All Night - Gorgon City Ft. Jennifer Hudson
OneRepublic - Something I Need
