1982 E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial
1983 Return of the Jedi
1984 Ghostbusters
1985 Back to the Future
1986 Top Gun
1987 Three Men and a Baby
1988 Rain Man
1989 Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

Hugh Grant ; Eddie Murphy ; Glenn Close
Angelina Jolie makes her film debut as a child actress

1986 – Stars making their film debut
Kristin Scott Thomas – Under the Cherry Moon ; Wesley Snipes – Wildcats
Kevin Spacey – Heartburn ; Imelda Staunton – Comrades

I also looked at FOOTBALL in the 80’s

In the 82/83 season
Liverpool’s Kenny Dalglish was voted Player of the Year by both the PFA and FWA.
21-year-old Liverpool striker Ian Rush established himself as one of the league’s finest goalscorers
Manchester United’s FA Cup winning squad included star players like Bryan Robson, Ray Wilkins and the 18-year-old Norman Whiteside.
13 April 1985: Paul Gascoigne, 17-year-old midfielder, makes his debut for Newcastle United in a 1-0 First Division home win over Queen’s Park Rangers
1986 – Tottenham Hotspur striker Clive Allen, who scored 49 goals in all competitions, was voted Player of the Year by both the PFA and FWA
1987 – 88 season: Alex Ferguson’s efforts in rebuilding Manchester United saw them finished second in the league just 18 months after they had looked in danger of relegation.
