On Friday (25th April), Ella Fitzgerald was born – today’s show includes some choice recordings of her, showcasing her performances with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra, Oscar Peterson Trio and others.

Featuring music by other jazz greats, particularly those celebrating birthdays this week, such as Joe Henderson, Slide Hampton, Jimmy Giuffre, Paul Chambers and Stan Sulzmann.
