This week’s album of the week is the second album from Montreal band Braids. Entitled Flourish // Perish, it’s a release I’ve been eagerly awaiting as I was a massive fan of their debut Native Speaker and this release does not disappoint. In parts triumphantly dreamy, in others deceptively dark, it’s an album that rewards repeat listens and is a record you can really get lost in.
We were also spoiled this week (in an ambassador Ferrero Rocher type fashion) by Mogwai, who not only announced a new album Rave Tapes which will be dropping in January, but also gave away a track from the album in the form of Remurdered. Looks like 2014 will start off very nicely indeed!
See you next week!
