Senior League Cup

An Eric Kelly hat-trick helped see Chingford Athletic move into the next round of the Senior League Cup at the expense of Frenford Res. Roydon also progress after a 3-1 win over Shoebury Town that included a top corner volley from Charlie Rider to seal the win. Rider actually scored twice with Darren Williams supplying the other Roydon goal. Aaron Day scored the Shoebury reply. Toby also won 3-1 at Ongar Town with Ben Turner, Junior Bammeke and Arron Watson-McNab scoring a goal apiece with Sean Green scoring the Ongar consolation.

 

Premier Division

Buckhurst Hill maintained their winning start after a 3-0 win over Springfield. Steve Townsend opened the scoring via a penalty which was initially saved but he fired home the rebound and then went on to add another goal later on; Steve Sollosi also got on the score sheet and the win sees Buckhurst Hill remain top of the table and setting the early pace. Harold Wood Athletic sit second on goal difference after goals from Charlie Liddiard, Ade Onileyan and Robert Whitnell secured a 3-1 away win at Old Southendian; Kelvedon Hatch are up to third after they registered a 5-1 win Hutton with Steve Barlex, Dan Gillard, Anthony Aylett, Andy Edmunds plus an own goal completing the goal tally. Nav Arain’s brace helped Great Baddow register their first win of the season. Ben Cross scored the other goal in the 3-2 win over Leigh Ramblers who replied via Harry Haysom and Andrew Webster. Sener Suavi bagged a double with Alex Witham also notching for Basildon Town whose 3-0 win over Herongate Athletic moves them up to second. Ryan also sit near the foot of the table after losing both of their opening two league games; on Saturday their trip to Newham United ended in a 3-0 defeat with Lamar Obinkwo (2) and Richard Boah the Newham marksmen. Harold Wood Athletic Res. posted their first win of the season as Mike Burton and Tom Lamb hit the target in a 2-1 home win over Beacon Hill Rovers.
