Looking like Xmas

Synth City Banner

Well we are here, December and the weird and humble 2016 year is getting geared up for the final push to Christmas. So, we chatted about odd products that are subtly connected to the season – like Mullied spiced washing Up liquid, and again we enjoyed more lovely new tracks and superb remixes. This week from Real Experts, Vague Notion, elektronic, Austerity Complex and Johnny Normal, plus a few other cool remixes and the odd classic track.

We spoke of two big December gigs and loads of other things, which if you missed the live radio show are now contained within a specially produced version on Mixcloud;

Voi Vang time

First Humbug

Synth City Banner

The seasons getting super busy again, we seem to be rushing head long in to Christmas and yet it is still poor little November- as you may be able to tell, I’m a bit of a bar humbug at all this. Which led to my little talking bit this week, which asked after your First feelings or suggestions of Humbug; I suggested Lights up too early for one..

We had new music on the show from Strobegirl, Cloak, Heliophile, Real Experts, Where the Night Falls and Promenade Cinema– who gave a synth type gothic vibe to an Abba Classic. Naturally I garnished the show with more remixes and the odd classic track, plus we spoke of the year end gigs, on Synth In The City.

If you missed the live radio show, then we have a rerun edition via Mixcloud. Please share and support…..

Tenek of Life

Synth City Banner

In a week where there was excitement about a Super Moon, we had a super show….. I know, I’m such the wag and you may note I like a tenuous link to a 80’s tinged moon type track in the show. Well I had some great new tracks on the show, this week from Real Experts – White Lies and Blutegel, as well some first plays from the new Tenek EP. As in the Phoenix FM studio, I was joined by two members of the band, Peter Steer and Steve Clarke from Tenek, who were in to chat about the fourth coming EP- Imitation of Life [ out Nov 29th].

tenek

We chatted about the bands newly released Sci-Fi inspired video to illustrate the single, and we chatted about the process behind writing the song and picking remixes for actual EP, plus we heard two tracks from the EP; also talked about beards and steak and I think I got a year wrong or something….. dunno, you will just have to take a listen to rerun the mixcloud version:..

Meet up tronica

Synth City Banner

Wow time is a flying, as we crack open November and serve more delights from the huge international electronic scene… with new tracks to the show from Circuit3, NINA, a cool cover from Pinklogik and a sneaky exclusive track from the brand new The Sweetest Condition album. We talked of gigs and the modern social get together thing called Meet Up’s. Along the way we had news of fire guest and enjoyed the odd classic track among the bright new synth things.

If you missed the whole of the live radio show, then fear not as I have a nice little Stream of the beauty here, care of Mixcloud;

That’s the Spirit

Synth City Banner

Swinging into October, and saying bye bye to the lovely summer….ahem, well the brighter  weather, but never mind as the great music and gig type news still flows to lighten the darkening nights. On the day of this live radio show,  we had heard that Basildon synth Pioneers Depeche Mode have formally announced a new tour and a album to delight our ears bits, live from Milan- Mind you they only announced one UK date; so not quite a Tour for the UK. We did have a little teaser of what the album may sound like but no firm dates on the album release- Called SPIRIT, nor a fledging single off that said new album….. we will be patient ah; well in spirit. We had more New tracks on this weeks show, this time from The Lunchbox Surrender, Dancing with Ruby, The Mystic Underground and Ooberfuse. Plus a double whammy from Jean-Michel Jarre; who is touring the UK- I said Depeche Mode, Touring the UK.

We spoke also about Synth Wave Live in 2017 and other up and coming gigs in 2016, so If you missed the live broadcast, then feel free to catch the rerun here via Mixcloud;
