News This Week in…

1981 – Eric Clapton is taken to the hospital suffering from bruised ribs and a lacerated shin, following a car accident in Seattle, Washington. Eric Clapton has been referred to as one of the most important and influential guitarists of all time winning numerous awards the Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music and has received four Ivor Novello Awards including the Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2004 he was awarded a CBE at Buckingham Palace for services to music.
