Bloom Play Chinnery’s

The band who recently performed a live session on Between The Lines played Chinnery’s 28th of April. On the night we heard Bloom play a half an hour set. The set included mosh pitting throughout so it was a great atmosphere. My two personal favorites songs from the night was the Bag Raiders cover and also Bloom’s final song Brothers. Overall it was a very enjoyable night for everyone involved! 18197629_1032923246839629_1291327249_n

Phoenix FM 10th birthday: Imogen Heap

This weekend as part of the Phoenix FM 10th birthday celebrations, we caught up with another long time friend of Phoenix FM, local musician Imogen Heap.

Imogen had a lot to talk about as she has written and produced all the music from the Harry Potter stage show, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Imogen spoke to Steve Robertson about her involvement with this production, working alongside J.K. Rowling, saying how wonderful it has been to be involved with Harry Potter. Imogen’s work in the production has lead to an Olivier award nomination for outstanding achievement in music. Having already won two Grammy awards, along with an Ivor Novello, Imogen spoke about how she is looking forward to the ceremony on the 9th of April at the Royal Albert Hall.

We spoke about Imogen’s other musical work and what has been occupying her time since Harry potter and the Cursed Child started its run. Being kept busy as a mother to Scout, Imogen spoke about one of her latest releases – “The Happy Song” which is a song created to make babies happy.

Between The Lines 18/3/17

There was no Steve Robertson this week so I took the main seat.

The show heavily featured Arsenal woeful performance against West Brom which did see the gunners lose 3-1 goals from Robson-Kanu and a brace from Dawson was the differences between the sides.

I also spoke about the new F1 season which is starting next week! The new pink livery for the Force India was a topic I discussed amongst other things such as Ferrari’s title hopes.

On the show Ryan Dale reported live from the London Stadium before their game against reigning champions Leicester City. Ryan gave team news and predictions. He predicted a 2-1 win for the Hammers, ended up being Leicester day as they won 3-2.

Hear more from me on a weekly basics on Between the Lines hosted by Steve Robertson.

Burnley v Lincoln City

Last weekend on Between the Lines we featured the headline grabbing early fixture in the FA cup, as non-league Lincoln beat Burnley at Turf Moor.
Following their draw at Chelsea, Sean Dyche’s team were brought down to earth with a bump against the undergogs. Danny Cowley’s team more than coped with what the Premier League side had to offer and Sean Raggett’s goal capped it for the Imps.

The match kept us occupied and was a big feature as we carried on to 3pm, for Phoenix Sport.

We looked back at a busy week for English football teams in Europe, as Arsenal had lost 5-1 at Bayern Munich, with us adding to the Arsene Wenger speculation. Arsenal facing the prospect of a tough fixture on Sutton United’s 3g pitch in the 5th round of the FA Cup.
Another match we looked back at was Spurs losing 1-0 to Gent, with work to do this coming week for the london side in the return leg at Wembley.
Positive news in Europe, with Manchester United winning 3-0 to Gent.

In other news, we looked back at Super League news from the night before. Leigh 14 – 17 Leeds being the final score.
Our Rugby Union recap included Gloucester 31 – 23 Saracens in the Aviva Premiership.

We looked ahead to local fixtures in the Football League, National League and Ryman League. Highlights including Billericay Town’s away fixture at Mill Field, to Grays Athletic. Brentwood Town were travelling to Waltham Abbey.

The upcoming F1 car launches were looked at, with a busy week for the teams as we are close to a month before the start of the season.

Join us every Saturday from 1-3pm for Between the Lines.
