Last night in Stockholm, Ghost’s Papa V Perpetua, performed a stunning rendition of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody at the prestigious Polar Music Prize. Papa V (Tobias Forge) was joined on stage by the beautiful addition of the Eric Ericson Chamber Choir and Opeth’s virtuoso guitarist, Fredrik Åkesson, who performed a flawless version of Brian Mays guitar solo. The performance received a standing ovation from industry professionals, including to the band Queen themselves. Not only that, but King of Sweden, Carl XVI Gustaf was also in attendance. Åkesson said; “What a great Honor to perform Bohemian Rhapsody with Ghost at the Polar Music Prize, in front of Queen and the King and Queen!!!”
This isn’t the first time that Forge and Åkesson have collaborated. Åkesson has contributed his skills to the recording of guitar solos on the last 2 Ghost albums.
